Short answerDescribe the voice in concrete rules, give two or three example answers from the original, list phrases to avoid, and compare side by side until it reads right.
Make the voice concrete
- Length: "Answer in 2 to 4 sentences unless asked for detail."
- Register: "Friendly and plain, no jargon."
- Banned phrases: list the ones that make it sound robotic.
- Format: "Use bullet lists for steps."
Use examples
Paste two or three real answers you loved from the original GPT under "Examples of good answers". Examples usually move tone more than adjectives do.
Compare
Run the same five questions on both versions and score tone using the scorecard. Adjust one rule at a time. See also if rules are ignored and why answers differ.
